HYPNOSIS AND NLP 3
There
is a strong link between Hypnosis and NLP. NLP has its roots in
hypnosis while traditional hypnotherapy practice can be greatly
enhanced with NLP techniques.
HYPNOSIS AND COMMUNICATION
In
neurolinguistic programming, Hypnosis is an ability to
communicate. It allows us to establish excellent relations with
others, grow towards autonomy, freedom and appreciate life in
all of its glory. We can control our brain, its functioning in
its relationship with ourselves and make it follow the
instructions we give it. For
instance, if we speak angrily, the brain selects anger and
arranges an adequate state of mind to the thoughts activated.
On the contrary, if we express enthusiasm, the brain
processes this type of response and produces a happy state of
mind.
‘Our
brain is a learning machine and we are its programmers!’
Passing
from one state of mind to another is an automatic ability. This
is apparent when we watch two lovers together - both of them
depend on emotions to feel good.
In
the mysterious world of emotions that many of us deny, avoid or
don't understand, there are deep mechanisms in place that make
people suffer or enjoy the consequences of their behaviour.
These people never realize the causes for the way they’re
feeling and eventually may even blame someone else for their own
subconscious strategies.
Hypnosis as a natural state
Hypnosis
is a natural state of mind that a person’s involved in with
the act of daily life. He is able to induce the state of
hypnosis in others, or even in himself without always being
aware that this act is known as hypnosis.
All
efficient communication is hypnosis.
It’s a path to our mind, which may at times be rapid, slow or
steep. It’s also the deep communication that may establish
between two individuals.
A
hypnotist is a sort of pilot who is able to alter a collision
course for any of his passengers. The hypnotized individual is
someone who allows himself to be hypnotized. In this state of
consent, the hypnotized person’s left hemisphere becomes
‘surrounded’. In such a state, he can accept suggestions
uncritically, and translate them into concrete actions. This is
not because his will is eliminated, rather because he concedes
his complete attention to what is being proposed. He still
retains his freedom to do or not to do whatever is being
suggested to him.
Hence
it is false, and scientifically unproven that hypnosis can
induce any individual to commit acts against his or her will.
Despite a hypnotist’s efforts, the subject may decide to come
out of the hypnotic trance, or refuse to continue. Hypnotism,
even if triggered by another person, is essentially
self-generated and autogenous in the sense that it uses an
absolutely natural and functional process of our psyche.
Many
of us are convinced that life is a succession or events that we
prepare ourselves to live. On the contrary, life changes the
moment we change. We
are the obstacles that prevent ourselves from living the life we
want to. This would not be the case if we regarded ourselves as
the ‘protagonists’ of our life, rather than playing a
walk-on part in our life. That is where hypnosis and NLP 3 have
important roles to play.

doing other things’

HYPNOTIC MODELS & METHODS - AN INTRODUCTION TO HYPNOTIC COMMUNICATION
Hypnotic
communication is basically the use of specific linguistic
patterns rooted in hypnosis. Here are some examples;
Negative orders
Negative
orders are one of the simplest hypnotic communication models.
For
instance, if someone says, ‘Don’t think about summer’
you’re automatically forced to think about it in order to
understand the statement.
Starting
with a negation means that the listener doesn't sense any
pressure to act. We
often use this negative order model unconsciously, and get an
undesired reaction.
For
instance, statements such as ‘Don’t worry’ ‘Don’t be
jealous’ and ‘nothing bad is going to happen’ may lead to
the very opposite actions to the ones we intended. This is
because the listener must interpret what he is being told not to
do, which increases the possibility of that very same behaviour.
Therefore,
by using negative orders, a person may be unconsciously
hypnotizing another person into giving certain undesirable
reactions. However, they can be used to get far more useful
reactions from people, regardless of whether or not they are in
a trance-like state.
For
example, ‘ Don't be curious to know what I feel about you!’
USES OF HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis
can be used both in a personal or professional scope. In fact it
is useful for sorting out problems or eliminating the limits we
impose upon ourselves.
Hypnotism
is therefore used to stop
smoking, lose weight,
eliminate fears and phobias,
etc. It may also be used to enhance creativity and continuously
increase your abilities and choices in life, by learning how to
improve what you already do well.
Hypnosis
is a group of techniques that help us improve the quality of our
life and the relationship that we have with ourselves. The aim
is to be able to create an internal state in which the subject
can access transformation processes.
Having
a set of mechanical tools does not automatically enable you to
fix a car! Similarly, we don’t always understand the immense
consequences of having a brain that we can manipulate. It is
techniques of hypnosis and NLP that help us being about a lot of
desirable changes in our lives, such as weight loss, confidence,
self-assurance, greater creativity, a better lifestyle, etc.
